The PABC believes that the key to historic preservation is understanding its intrinsic value as well as its economic value. Along those lines, we have had speakers and demonstrations in the past, such as:

  • Dendrochronology — the science of dating events and variations in environment in former periods by comparative study of growth rings in trees and aged wood

  • Restoration of original windows

  • Dry Stone Walling — is a building method by which structures are constructed from stones without any mortar to bind them together

  • Understanding Tax Credits for Historic Rehabilitation Projects

  • Bus and walking tours, such as Slave Quarters, Inn and Taverns, Catonsville, Dundalk

  • Timber Framing
