Baltimore Community Foundation

We’re happy to announce that Preservation Alliance of Baltimore County was awarded a $27,778.00 grant from the Baltimore Community Foundation to support our Aging in Place, Aging in History program.

With these funds, we are able to expand our assistance to limited-income Baltimore County Senior Citizen homeowners to help them with needed repairs, like roofs and restoring windows, to their historic homes. Preservation Alliance is very grateful for the Baltimore Community Foundation’s support.

Our goal is to preserve our County’s irreplaceable historic buildings and help our Senior neighbors, the stewards of our communities, stay in their beloved historic homes.

We are working partnership, and pooling and combining funds with, on this project with Civic Works and the Baltimore Department of Aging. To qualify, the applicant(s) must be over 62, own a home built before 1945 (the house does NOT necessarily need to be listed on any national nor local historic registry), and, as a single person, make no more than $42,800 yearly, or $48,000 as a couple. Please contact director@preservationabc.org for more information.

While the program in open to all who fit this criteria, we are especially focused on historically Black neighborhoods, and on communities in the Eastern part of Baltimore County affected by the Key Bridge collapse.

Also, please consider directly donating to our Aging in Place program to support historic home repairs for those who fall slightly beyond the guidelines for this program, but still need assistance.
